I just redeemed 5,000 points for a $50.00 OBC with my VISA experiencing no problems or difficulties.

 

How can BOA change the reward program with AMEX w/o notification? Did anyone else experience a different scenario? Were you notified of a different point schedule?

Huh?? What changed? It's still 100 points for $1 off the cruise or OBC.

Cindy, thanks for the heads up on that. I have the World Points AmEx card but I told my friend Cil who has that card. Much like your experience, after hours on the phone (mostly on hold) she did get onboard credits 'this one last time'!

The 5,000 points for $50.00 credit is no longer an option on the AMEX. The "packages" are no longer available like the Celebrity robes and other options. The redemption increments are higher.

 

I just wanted people to be aware of the new changes. I think I'll used the Celebrity VISA over the AMEX, once I get to the next 10,000 point total.

I just checked the BOA Celebrity Amex & Visa websites, and many of the old rewards are back.

 

As I stated the other day, there is some sort of changeover going on, and we should give Celebrity / Bank of America a few days to work everything out.

 

As of tonight, I see the following items on the BOA website :

 

Onboard Credits :

 

50.00 OB Credit - 5,000 Points

150.00 OB Credit - 15,000 Points

250.00 OB Credit - 25,000 Points

500.00 OB Credit - 50,000 Points

 

Cruise Discounts :

 

250.00 Cruise Discount - 25,000 Points

500.00 Cruise Discount - 50,000 Points

750.00 Cruise Discount - 75,000 Points

 

There are several other items available, including 3 Romance Packages ranging from 5,000-25,000 points, and 2 Celebrity Robes for 5,000 Points. Other items include : a companion fare offer, a 7-10 night Caribbean Cruise for 2, and some Cabin Upgrade packages.

Hi Cindy !

 

As you stated the above was from the AMEX Worldpoints site, have you tried logging directly into the Bank of America Website ? I'm seeing most all (if not all) of the old Celebrity rewards are back on the BOA Website.

 

Could it be the Worldpoints rewards are for ANY Cruise line, and not specific to Celebrity ? Just a thought.
