Quick questions about Fantasy?

Hello everyone, I am leaving on the 13th of January and have quick questions.

Does the shower on the Fantasy have the wall pumps with shampoo and body wash in them? Don't want to pack if don't need.

Do the casinos stay open on the Fantasy while in port in Nassau since gambling is legal in the Bahamas?

Do phone cards such as the ones you can buy at WalMart from ATT work at payphones in Nassau or are special calling cards needed?

Thanks for your help.

As far as I know the casino is not open in Nassau. It wasn't either time I was aboard the Fantasy, but that was years ago.

The Calling Cards should work, just make sure you read the back of the card and make sure it's one that's good for international calls. They have some now that are US only.

Hope this has helped

Again thanks for all the replies. Does anyone know about the Atlantis casino? Can you go there without being a hotel guest to gamble (seems like a stupid question because of course they would want my money, but I wanted to make sure)? Anyone have some good hints/tips on being on the Fantasy and going to Nassau. Thanks again

I have been on the Fantasy about three times within the last year and a half. This is a great ship. I see that you question concerning the casino on board was answered.

You can go to Atlantis without being a hotel guest. I would suggest that you take a taxi over and not the water taxi. They put too many people on those boats and most do not look seaworthy. The casino at Atlantis is stingy IMHO. I have tried it a couple of times and did not go back but the place is really something to see.

I have some photos of the ship in my first link below. Have a great cruise.

Yes you can gamble at the atlantis. We took a disney cruise for our 3 year old girls birthday. Disney ships have no casino so we went to the Atlantis .We aren't big gamblers so I gave my wife a $20 bill and went for a stroll with my daughter. I figured 5 minutes should be long enough for the $20 donation for the slots my wife had. I returned and she was standing by a slot machine with the head of security She hit the machine for $3500.00 on her first $3 bet. I was going to gamble but I was so rattled about her winnings. You always here of someone winning a fairly large amount of money and dont know whether to believe them or not. But now I believe. We are sailing on the fantasy with 4 other couples next week without the kids and we will be making that trip to the atlantis.

We're headed out on the Fantasy on 1/30. First cruise with the kids. We figured we'd better test out their sealegs before we go and plunk down big bucks for a Disney cruise!!!!

I've never been to the Bahamas, so I'm looking forward to it!

You're the first one, Cruzinnana, that I know of that's on the same sailing as us. I see on Carnival's site that there's only about a dozen cabins available, so looks like it'll be a full ship. We're not big gamblers, so we probably won't hit Atlantis this time(especially with the kids along!) but I'm celebrating my 40th with my best friend in May on the ship, so maybe we'll hit it then!

Going on the Fantasy for the second time in May. Great cruise! All the oomph of a week long cruise (2 shows, gala buffet) in 4 days, allowing you to maybe take in some other attractions giving you 2 vacations in 1!

Tip 1: If you want to go to the beach at Atlantis, have the taxi drop you off at the side of the building and walk between the hotels to the beach. Enjoy the beach and enter the casino from the back entrance. They will want to charge you to use the beach (was $25pp) if you enter the front door.

Tip 2: Check out the Atlantis first, then go to Cable Beach Crystal Palace for better odds and lower minimums (but not all the glitter). The dock splits the two, so I did the Atlantis, returned to the ship for dinner, then went to Crystal Palace.

Tip 3: Portion off only a small amount of your bankroll to gamble with on the ship, and stick to it. The ship's casino is T-I-G-H-T! And all the achohol and emotion on board makes it easy to get carried away. If you plan to gamble in port, save your bankroll!

I have read that U.S. phone cards don't work in the Bahamas but have no proof of this.

NHlady, I will be on the May 1st 4 day cruise. I will warm the ship up for you and promise not to drink up all the booze!

To get off, so we can get on, that is...LOL!!! We really wanted to do the May 1st cruise, but talking our husbands into a 3 day was hard enough! We're already thinking we're in for trouble, 2 men, 6 kids alone for 4 days by the time you figure in travel!! Payback is gonna be tough! Please leave us some booze, we're gonna need it!! Have a great cruise! Just look for the two tall blondes wearing birthday hats that couldn't POSSIBLY be turning 40 at the terminal-that'll be us!!

The guys will love it! That is if they like all the food they can possibly eat, sipping cocktails while watching scantly clad women sun themselves,top-notch entertainment, and not having to do but relax and have fun. Kids will be busy at Camp Carnival and exploring the ship.

They are going to owe you a payback! And don't forget to rub it in for not letting you do the 4 day trip!

That's why we're gonna owe them BIGTIME!!!! LOL!!! I'm actually going with my hubby and kids on the four day in two weeks, but the 3 day one in May is a "girls only" thing!!! I just don't want to know what the guys cook up to do in retribution!!! But you know what they say, Don't dance if you can't afford to pay the piper!!! This is definitely gonna be one of those vacations with "hidden costs!' LOL!

I will be turning 40 a few months after my first cruise on the Fantasy next month. And my mom will be turning 75, this is why we decided this would be the year to do it!!

We'll be on the four-day leaving right before you do, on 1-30-05 (with DH and kids). It's gonna be the first cruise with the kids.

I'm turning 40 in February, my best friend will be 40 in August, so we figured May was the perfect time to get away. It's after Easter, but the kids are still in school so it's much easier to get away when all you have to ask the guys to do is be home when they get off the bus and get them fed and in bed!!!

Never been to the Bahamas so I'm really looking forward to it. Especially with the cold weather we've been having up here!
