Athens: Storing luggage during day visit

Ahtens is the final destination for our cruise. We arrive in morning and are staying overnite at the airport hotel to catch a 7:00 am plane. We do not want to waste time taking luggage to airport hotel during a short day in Athens. Is there a place to store luggage in town that we could pick up after dinner?

There are luggage storage lockers at both the Monastiraki and Omonia metro stations.

 

I have also read on these boards that the Backpacker's Hostel, near the Acropoli metro stop, will store luggage even if you are not staying there for a few Euros.
