Miami Transportation

There are 5 of us flying into MIA. We need to get to South Beach. Are there cabs readily available that seat 5 or will we need two cabs? Cost for each? How long is the ride to South Beach?

Any information will be greatly appreciated!

There are some van taxis that can carry 5.

MIA to South Beach can be anywhere from 30 minutes to well, longer ;) depending on traffic and what part of South Beach you're going to. Friday, Saturday & Sunday afternoons/evenings in particular the backup on the causeway can be long.

Taxi fares between MIA and South Beach are a fixed, flat rate of $32, make sure the driver knows you know that before leaving... http://www.miami-airport.com/html/taxi_and_shuttle_service.html

Even in a van taxi, five people plus luggage for a week could be a problem. Perhaps not impossible, such as if couples share a suitcase. Five of anything larger than a carryon is going to be tight.
