Review time again!!! Fascination 9-19-09

I'm back!

 

So I took some sunset shots then went back to the room. Who knows what happened next but it was soon time to get ready for our last night with our boys.

 

We stopped at the cigar bar which is just above the Imagination dining room to get a drink. We sat there for a bit and let the crowd thin out that was waiting for the DR to open. We actually did this a few times. That way we didn't have to wait for our drink waiter in the DR. We always ordered a different drink, so he had no idea what to bring us every night.

 

 

DH and I had a gift for Samson that I had wrapped up in a sweater so he wouldn't see it. He didn't suspect a thing!

 

As we entered the DR we saw Maitre D' K and thanked him again for helping us with Samson's table. Of course we gave him our envelope!

 

Then we made our way to our table. Samson was waiting for us and as soon as we walked up he started making crying noises. Remember... I told him we weren't going to come the last night because I would be crying too much. Well.... he kept giving me a hard time all night.

 

Flash back to our last cruise... the last night Samson gave me a piece of paper as we were getting up from the table and he told me that I couldn't open it until we were out of the DR. We talked a little longer and he told us he had to go.... he started to walk away and said... ok look at it now.... It was a sad face peeking from a counter with tears that said he would miss us. That had started my tears again....So I had a plan for the gift this time.... payback is a .... well ya know....

 

Before the song I took the gift and put it on the window ledge... In hopes that he would ask about it... the plan was that we would play stupid... what gift? What are you talking about? Well, he never saw it. If he did he didn't let onto it.... He was giving me a hard time so I was gonna give a little back too! :p

 

So soon it was showtime.... and I started to tear up... Samson just looked at me and laughed and did more baby crying noises.

 

We have video of this.... Samson looks like he is a little teary too... he kept wiping his face before they started to sing and afterwards....

 

After the song Samson and Papa went to the other table and were talking to them they have a little speach they were giving about how they enjoyed serving them etc..... Then they headed to our table.... they tried their speach with us but Samson kept looking down at the ground and wouldn't look up. Then he was teasing me again saying there were tears in my eyes..... we talked for a bit then Samson said, with a big cheesy grin.... can I have my gift now? We played stupid... he kept asking for it.... I told him that it wasn't for him... Papa was enjoying every minute of this! So we got up, talked a bit more... DH gave Papa an envelope and Samson was still trying to get that gift!

 

I said to him.... do you remember what you did to me last time? He said yes.... my note.... I said ok.... you can't open this until we are gone! We said our goodbye's and our hugs.... We knew that we would see them again the next morning before we got off the ship. They had to work Lido until 9am and had the rest of the day off until they had to get ready to serve dinner. As we were walking away I turned back and they were watching us... Samson held the gift in the air to show he wasn't opening it... we turned and walked out of the dining room.... I was so upset... so sad... it's hard knowing that you won't see a friend for a year or more. I knew we may have a little time in the morning.... but if he was busy then we wouldn't be able to chat.... It was a long walk back to our room to drop off our camera and cam corder. I was full of tears.

Before they started singing.... Papa with a tray on his head and Samson was putting the flower arrangements on the tray....

 

 

I got up and went over to take a picture of them since they were singing in the middle of the dining room....

I'm a little better.... but we won't sail til next year.... We may have to change sailing dates and ships.... it depends where Samson is!

 

I really want to be on that ship NOW! Damn my addictive personality! :eek: :o

So we made it to our room and found our last towel animal.... it's one of those that make you go hmmmmm

 

 

It's different... it's cute though... he had my neckace and shades on! Note the luggage at the foot of the bed.

 

So we made sure everything was put in our luggage except the stuff we needed the next day... you know... clothes... shoes... etc... Then set them outside of the door.

 

We made a drink and headed to the piano bar. We stayed for a little bit then decided to go check out the Lido deck party. It was raining... it was a drizzle and there were still people out there doing the electric slide and all that stuff. We stayed for a bit and decided to head back in just as they were starting the congo line. We waited for the congo line to pass us and we followed them out to the Atrium. The ACD was at the end of the line trying to get us to join... I was afraid I would fall and bust my butt on the wet deck or the slippery blue mats they have on deck so we just walked behind them and out to the Atrium.

 

We had to go cash out at the casino but before we did we made a little more of a contribution to the casino first.

 

We ended up back on the Lido deck and there was a band out there playing. There weren't too many people out there but they were playing rock and roll.... Guns and Roses, Metallica that kinda stuff... we grabbed a chair and watched all the people that were drunker then us dance... it was pretty cool hearing Metallica on a cruise ship!

 

We made our way back to our room about 2:30ish.... tomorrow we would be home.

I don't wanna go home!!!!

 

We woke up about 7am and we looked outside to see Jax outside. No more pretty blue water. No more bright blue skies with big fluffy white clouds.

 

We were a little slower this morning as you could imagine. But we took our showers and got dressed for one more run around the ship.

 

We made our way to the Lido deck after discovering that my cell phone was dead... I know I turned it off because Honey reminded me to turn it off at sail away. How does a battery die when it is off? I thought it was interesting. So we had to figure out how to call my parents and tell them what time to pick us up at port.

 

Once again as we walked out to the Lido deck Samson spotted us. He grabbed my hand and kept telling me I was naughty.... he loved the gift and the note I left him. We talked for a bit then we said were were going to go find Papa... we walked to the coconut bar and grill and found him as Samson was walking up to him too.... Papa got off at 9am and Samson got off at 9:30. Papa planned on going ashore today and he wanted to get some Chinese food. Too bad we couldn't take him to our fave Chinese restaurant! We let them go back to work so they could finish up and take some much deserved time off for rest.

 

We went back to our room to get our carry ons and to leave Win another envelope. (we also gave him some cash in the very beginning) We spotted Dottie and Jim and talked to them for a bit... I used Dotties phone to call my parents to tell them what time we would be ready. We said goodbye to them after exchanging email and phone numbers... and writing down CC's website because they didn't know about it.

 

It was 9:20am and we had 10 minutes to get up to Lido for the last goodbye. Samson got finished at 9:30 and he walked with us out to the elevators on the Lido deck... one more goodbye and he went thru the crew only door waving to us.....

 

We went to the piano bar to sit.... they called all the remaining zones and we waited a bit longer to avoid the lines.... we only had a 10-15 minute drive after all.... So we sat.... I thought about all the fun we had... about the things we did.... the new friends we met thanks to CC... and our friend that we wouldn't see for awhile... but knew that we would chat online and hear from every once and awhile....

 

It was a awesome time... I wish we could do it all over again.... but I know that we will see everyone again some time... some maybe sooner then others.... and we will make brand new memories then... until then.... I have all of these to re-live to put a smile on my face....

Hi Steph,

 

Great review, I'm happy to see you finally got a chance to finish it.

 

You guys love cruising so much, you should try a 7 day. Why not go to Canaveral and sail on the new Carnival Dream? We are going next October. The fantasy class ships are great, but you would really enjoy a larger ship too.

 

It's been great talking to you the last few months. Sorry we did not get a chance to meet up.
