KOOLBEANS Posted September 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2009 I bought some Mexican blankets in Playa Del Carmen and they are not the smooth ones, they are the ones that look like they have been knotted maybe? They are kinda rough feeling and look liked they are made out of dyed mop rope/strings. Any help on how to clean these is greatly appreciated. Don't want to pick up a bunch of ropes in the washer, lol. Thank you very much!
Almost Packed Posted September 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2009 i had one of these blankets, and a jacket too...i washed mine several times...okay, many times and they held up fine...there was a minimum amount of shrinkage (very minimum) on the blanket. i figured if it ruined it that was fine because it was dirty and needed to be washed and was no good to me at that point....but it was fine after washing. just wash it alone for the first few times...the best i can recall it was a bit "linty" (i just made that word up) and i even dried mine in the dryer. over time the lint problem was gone. i hope it's the same as yours...as it sounds so. js Posted September 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2009 I keep one of my blankets on my family room couch since the dog goes on the couch. I was the blanket all the time. It is exactly how you explain your blanket.
KOOLBEANS Posted October 3, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted October 3, 2009 Great!! It is kinda hard to explain, lol, but couldn't find a "type" of those blankets......Thank you so much, I have since washed it and it came out just fine with not enough shrinkage to notice. Thanks again!!
