judyf Posted May 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2004 I just filled out the online forms for our 5/21 sailing on the Voyager. We have a gty. cabin. On our forms we are assigned a cabin number. Will this stay the same now or could it change? Should I write this cabin number on our tags? Any help appreciated. DMorris Posted May 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2004 It may change prior to sailing. I would go back in and check it every now and then by viewing your online documentation forms. Our cabin changed twice before sailing when I noticed they assigned a cabin number when I filled out our forms. Did you get a good cabin? cruzn buckeye Posted May 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We booked a gty. cabin for August. How far ahead do they assign the cabin?
DMorris Posted May 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2004 There is no set time on when the assign the cabin. I found that they assigned my cabin 5 weeks ahead, but it changed twice before we cruised. Some people don't find out until closer to their sailing date. judyf Posted May 16, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We sail on May 21st and I had a cabin number Friday 5/14 when I did the online forms. I booked last minute like 3 weeks ahead. I booked a gty Z and was assigned cabin number 9553, which I think is a good room. Any room is a good room for us that's why I book a gty. It's a handicapped room so I think it will be a little bigger. judyf Posted May 19, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted May 19, 2004 My cabin number on the 5/21 Voyager sailing is still the same and we sail Friday. DO you think I can count on that room this close to sailing? Family of 14 Posted May 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Unless someone requesting a handicapped room calls today, I think you are safe. That's a great deal! We are looking for that deal for our children to move into. We have to wait five more weeks to see if any handicapped open up though. Have a great cruise and please take pictures of the room to post or send by e-mail. <MARQUEE>Are you sailing on the Mariner 7/18/04?...Click here! or HERE! </MARQUEE> Disney Wonder 3/2000 ~ Disney Magic 9/2000 ~ RCI Vision 2/2001 ~ Carnival Victory 12/2001 ~ Celebrity Millennium 3/2003 ~ RCI Adventure OTS 9/2003 ~ RCI Mariner OTS 7/18/2004 ~ RCI Serenade OTS 9/26/2004

Family of 14 Posted May 20, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 20, 2004 That would be great...have a wonderful time! I recommend that everyone check there online docs. A guy from our sailing posted on the M&M board that he went online to fill out his dos and noticed that there was a different stateroom number from the one he was suppose to be in. RCCL had moved him away from his mother's stateroom without notification. Luckily, they were able to get the old stateroom back. <MARQUEE>Are you sailing on the Mariner 7/18/04?...Click here! or HERE! </MARQUEE> Disney Wonder 3/2000 ~ Disney Magic 9/2000 ~ RCI Vision 2/2001 ~ Carnival Victory 12/2001 ~ Celebrity Millennium 3/2003 ~ RCI Adventure OTS 9/2003 ~ RCI Mariner OTS 7/18/2004 ~ RCI Serenade OTS 9/26/2004

susan is cruisin Posted May 20, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Do they ever change your cabin for something worse after it has been assigned? I'm very happy with the room we were assigned, but now I'm worried that they will change it.... TheWog Posted May 20, 2004 #15 Share Posted May 20, 2004 bug - gty (guarantee) is when you book a certain category but are not assigned an actual cabin number. as the ship sells and you get closer to your sail date you will be assigned a cabin. it may be foreward, midship, aft, you don't know. it is thought to be a good way to get an upgrade to a better category of stateroom. it is also a little less money as you are not reserving a particular room. Family of 14 Posted May 20, 2004 #17 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Yes, forward of the "hump" is a good location. susan is cruisin - Love your name. It is very unlikely that your stateroom will be changed again.
Inshape Posted September 14, 2005 #18 Share Posted September 14, 2005 Can you link 2 cabins for this type of reservation or do you need to get a specific cabin? We do 2 cabins, one balcony, one inside across from us ( or next to us as we have on MOS). How much less are these types of reservations? Can you give examples of rates for different catagories. Thanks.
