Help sort out motel/hotel issues

Help. We fly into Fort Lauderdale in 3 weeks to board the MS Eurodam. We wanted to stay at the LaQuinta but the rates are only given for two nights now even though we stayed there in May 09 and really liked it along with its location and service to and from the airport/cruise port etc. We are looking at the Holiday Inn Express on 17th ave and Best Western Oceanside. We are leaning towards the Best Western because our teenage daughters want the beach for at least a few hours the day before we sail. We can also walk down to the cut and watch the ships sail in and out I think by the map and google earth. I know the Maasdam will be sailing the friday afternoon when we are in the area. Is it a dump and will we not be happy with this property? We have until monday to book and complete our vacation plans. Thank you. Colakid.

I'd pass on the Best Western. The HIExpress on SE17th is much nicer and a 5 minute cab ride to the beach.

The Best Western looks like a dumpy motel from the outside, but it surprisingly gets pretty good reviews on tripadvisor. The Bahia Mar is another option in the same price range and is a hotel.
