Has anyone used BA Privatetours in BA?

Tourism is big in BA and there are lots of companies offering tours--there is even one company offering free walking tours. A number of these companies have been discussed in this forum and it is worth reading about some of them even if you aren't planning to book with them. It is just helpful to hear about other people's experiences.

BTW, if you haven't already, you should also be asking these same questions on TripAdvisor. There is even more information to be found there.

We used them for several days in December 2007 prior to a cruise. Our guide was German Landa, who provided excellent walking tours. The initial email communication with the company was a bit slow by US standards, but everything worked out.

We used Carlos in BA. He was very good. Even better was the guide he recommended in Iguazu for us--Oliver. Terrific.

Do you or Lady Jane have a contact addy for Carlos and any indication of price with or without transport?

Thanks

Paul

Here is Carlos' email address: info@privatetours.com.ar

I believe we took his comprehensive, full day tour of BA and surrounding area, for just the two of us with Carlos as guide, for about $160 + tip. It included a ride on the train out to Tigre and then a boat ride up the Delta. Was a great tour!

If you ever go to Rio, we used Pedro (Peter) Novak at privatetours.com in Brazil. Another awesome, all day tour, for us and our 2 friends.

We are crusing out of BA in Feb and have booked all our tours with Defrantur Tour Company. I have no idea how good they are but you might want to check out their web-site for more info. Their prices are very reasonable and the have a very good reputation. Good Luck and enjoy your cruise.
