JFS0043 Posted May 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2004 I heard you can take a wheeled cooler aboard. Do you leave it with the porter or take it with your carry-on? Anyone try this?? I want to fill mine with a couple cases of beer
BaumD Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 There is a pretty good chance they will not let you bring "a couple of cases of beer" onto the ship either as checked or carry-on. If you snuck a six pack or two, you could probably get away with it, but sevral cases - doubtful. You can bring the cooler, but RCCL rules say you can't bring your own beer. lnm Posted May 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2004 We had a roll on cooler...with probably a case of beer and some cokes on top. We figured if they confiscated the beer....oh well. We also took a case of coke with 8 cokes on each end and beer in the middle....all said and done, about 1 1/2 - 2 cases of beer. No problem. We rolled it on ourselves...went thru xray with no questions asked. Just be prepared to give it up without getting upset and ruining your vacation if it comes to that. Oh and before everyone starts flaming....we bought plenty of beer and drinks on board...this was for cabin use.

AdrieneAGD Posted May 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2004 Honestly, I think it depends on what kind of mood the attendants are in... Some have posted that they have no problems "sneaking" alcohol on board (neither did we when we were on the Sovereign last year), but others have stated that theirs was taken from them. You shouldn't have issues brinking soft drinks on board, though. Lil_Bit Posted May 17, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2004 We used the soft sided wheeled cooler on our recent Mariner trip. It worked great and our room attendant kept if full of ice for use. I primarily brought bottled water w/ a few bottles of champagne/wine and mini liquor bottles. Make sure you purchase one that will fit through the x-ray machine. I had to turn it on it's side. Walmart sells a nice one for about $18 We need a Holiday... my travel pics http://community.webshots.com/user/lynnemaynard
