jplotts865 Posted October 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2009 We'll be on QV and the November 23rd sailing to the Canary Islands. One sight I really want to see on Tenerife is the Auditorio de Tenerife in Santa Cruz. I can find no tour that lists this really major architectural site and am wondering if the ship docks close enough to either walk or taxi to the building for a visit? I'm leaning toward a four hour tour to Mount Teide in the morning with my own visit (I hope) in the afternoon to this spectacular opera house. Any information from your visit(s) to Tenerife would be most welcome. Thanks!
jfhandel Posted October 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2009 You will have no problem getting to the opera house, its fairly central (as is the cruise port - the dock entrance is right on the main square which is itself at the bottom of the main shopping street). Tenerife is a actually quite a spectacular place, in my book, topped (pardon the pun) by Mount Teide. Its also an island of contrasts, with the south being packed full of the beer and chips brigade, the north having a proper Spanish city in Santa cruz, and the north/western side of the island being very green.
