Delta Dear Posted October 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2009 I bought my grandson an inexpensive Canon Power Shot A 470 over 18 months ago. I dropped it. To have it repaired would be almost what I paid for it.( Around $80.00) Canon will let me turn it in on a reconditioned camera, Canon SD1100 for only $99.00. I am tempted to do it because the SD1100 has good reviews and for a teenager, that is probably more than adequate. Their retail is around $179.00 right now. It comes with 90 day warranty. I would think reconditioned by Canon ought to be 'as good as new.' What do you think of the deal? Is it a good one ?
donaldsc Posted October 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2009 I can't comment on the specific camera but I have a Canon reconditioned G9. I have had no problems w it. DON
TheRoff Posted October 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2009 Canon has a good reputation for repairing their cameras, so they ought to do a good job here. For the price and with the warranty, it seems you can't loose. Larry
