Besides harbor house.....

What other "nice" hotels are on that side of the island? We stayed at Harbor House last time but may not be able to this time as it looks like they want a 2 night stay during the time we will be there. We like being close to the port - so are there any other hotels to recommend that aren't far - as we will be taking a taxi to the port. A hotel shuttle would be even better.

Only Tremont 2 blocks

Galvez next closest good hotel after Tremont

Better Hotels in Galveston

SAN LUIS – Beautiful, Lively, in party place,

and heated pool and great pool area - Seawall

HILTON next to San Luis - Seawall

GALVEZ - Historical Beautiful and great brunch with pool - Seawall

MOODY GARDENS - Pool and lots and lots of activities (see web) – on Bay

TREMONT - Historical Beautiful no pool

but has Galvez privileges – Downtown Strand area

HARBOR HOUSE - downtown on port - one block off Strand area,

great views, no pool, but all Galvez privileges -

with NEW festive Greek restaurant down stairs - Greek band,

dancing and Belly dancing and two other seafood restaurants next door

You would be happy with any of these nice Hotels .

It is a small Island – Cab easily handle any transporation

Remember if 2 night required something big may be going on that weekend.

Hilton and San Luis owned by same

Galvez, Tremont and Harbor House owned by same

Moody Gardens owned separately from others
