Evening walking safety in San Telmo, BA

Please assess for me the safety of a single couple walking the few blocks from "La Brigada" restaurant (Estados Unidos 465) to "El Viejo Almacen" tango show (Independencia and Balcarce), both in San Telmo, at 2200 (10 pm). I'm not looking for guarantees, just informed assessments.

Hi - I recently spend a week in BA, and walked around quite a bit at night, in a number of different neighborhoods, including San Telmo. I think you can walk around with confidence that you will not have a problem. Of course there are no guarantees, as you state. BA has loads of people walking about well into the night, unlike most US cities.
