Best Transfer Option LAX

We are staying a day before and after our cruise. Plan is to stay in San Pedro day before and airport hotel day after. Both hotels will give us free transport. What would be the best transfer option LAX to San Pedro and reverse knowing we are not in a rush for a flight?

Thanks.

Companies like supershuttle and primetime shuttle will get the job done. We paid $34 from long beach to LAX.

These are a great option if you are not in a time crunch. They will wait until the shuttle is full or 20 minutes whichever comes first. There were people freaking out in the vans because the had flights to catch, they didn't read the fine print. Since you, like us have time on your side it wasn't a problem.

It depends on what you mean by "best". If you want fastest, then a cab (around $60 one way) or town car would be best. If you want least expensive, then a shared shuttle (around $17/person one way), but you may have several stops between the airport or hotel and pier or the pier and your hotel, which could end up taking a hour or more.

Thank you! There are 4 of us so probably a cab/town car would be better and about the same price. We would just get there a bit sooner.

Are the cabs/town cars readily available at LAX and the pier? Or can/should we reserve a town car ahead of time?

It may be a problem getting a taxi van, and a town car or car taxi would probably not accomodate both you an your luggage (for 4 or 6). I would suggest for a group of 6 that you do an exclusive (non-shared) van with a shuttle company. Reserve these ahead of time with all the major shuttle companies. Look for this on the Supershuttle website when reserving.

Hello,

I suggest that you look at Super Shuttle for your ride from the airport to San Pedro. Super Shuttle has some options that may be of help to you.

Do you want to negotiate a fare with a taxi driver after a long flight, at an airport where you are at the mercy of the driver? Or, make all the arrangements including the Super Shuttle driver gratuity over the Internet...no hassle, mess, or misunderstandings. It will take a little longer because Super Shuttle may make some stops but this is the much better option.

Back to the hotel at LAX I would use Super Shuttle also.
