Snorkel, Beach, Food, Drink

I really want to go to Seven Mile beach when we are in Cayman. Part of our group wants to snorkel, part wants beach for sun and relaxation. Also, want food and drink. Is there a place on Seven Mile beach where we can have it all?

If not, on Seven Mile beach, recommendations of where to go would be appreciated.

Thank you!!!

how about great snorkeling, great bar and a place that will let you use the pool as long as you are buying at the bar??? But sorry no sand beach.

Sunset House has the snorkeling, and the bar (with food) and recent reports say they will let you use the pool if buying at the bar but sorry this is an Iron Shore area.

Explain: if you are on a sand beach you are not in prime snorkel country. Sand is ....well SAND. Off 7 Mile Beach the reef is a good 1 mile or more out. Where the coral reef is close to shore there is seldom sand beach (at least in GC) here the coral actually extends up the shore and that long dead coral that forms the shore is called 'iron shore'. At Sunset and Eden Rock (both south of the tender landings) the reef is close to shore and the shore is Iron Shore.

I would mention that for beginner snorkelers Sunset has cut a sea pool into the Iron Shore providing a place to get acclimated, or you can dive right in from the diver entrance.

3 of 4 is the best I can do ... no sand
