WideAwake428 Posted October 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2009 We called and spoke with RC, but I'm just so nervous about it I figured I'd ask here to. The people at Royal Caribbean said we do not need a passport for the 4 night cruise that stops in the Bahamas - just an original birth certificate, our license and our marriage license. Anyone ever taken this cruise without a passport? This is will be our first cruise. I'm just scared of getting there and them saying that we have to have a passport. We don't have up to date ones - and this is going to be a last minute trip.

We don't have up to date ones - and this is going to be a last minute trip. We go every year and have yet to need a passport. As long as you leave and return to the same port you are good. The only problem would be if you had to fly home in an emergency
patseacruiser Posted October 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2009 Make sure your birth certificate is a state issued birth certificate with a raised seal. Will not accept hospital birth certificates and your marriage license should be the same - not a church issued certificate.

cb at sea Posted October 18, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2009 We've never, ever needed our marriage certificate....no woman's birth name will be the same as her married name... Your BC and Dl are fine.
WideAwake428 Posted October 18, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted October 18, 2009 Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease! I appreciate it :) We are so excited to experience our first cruise.
dirtgirl Posted October 18, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2009 While you don't need one for this cruise, it would be a good idea to get one, just in case of an emergency. Crap happens, and if you have to fly home from the Bahamas, you will need a passport.;)
WideAwake428 Posted October 18, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted October 18, 2009 Yeah, we keep meaning to - just something thing that we haven't gotten around to. We got married 2 1/2 years ago and I forgot to do it while it would have been free, and since then I've just not really thought about it.
