where2next4me Posted October 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2009 Hi We are visiting on a cruise for only a short time in December. We love experiencing new types of food and drink. We want to have a walk around town a find a good eating place for traditional food and drink. I have been told the spicy chicken and ribs are a must  Can anyone recommend any places or food to try? http://www.cruise2010.net
nabby Posted October 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2009 If you want traditional, head for Roti Palace. It is right in Roadtown. A roti is a West Indian wrap sandwich, and the filling is usually spiced with curry. If you get chicken, be sure to request no bones. This is a tasty and cheap meal. thatbloominplace Posted November 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2009 we had some of the best rotis ever at this little eatery. it was a little hard to find, though. ask enough people on the street and they will get you there. it is up a little hill in a small house where they do the cooking right in front of you. it doesn't get any more "real" than this. try the conch roti!! steve
BIN Posted November 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2009 we did the Pub Crawl tour a couple weeks back when we stopped at Tortola as a port of call. although we really only stopped at 2 places, one where they had a buffet lunch for us, we got hammered on the tour vehicle. i think there was 23 people on our tour vehicle (1 of 3 vehicles) and we went through 2 half gallons of rum (provided in the tour). if you do the Pub Crawl, make sure Esmerelda is your guide!!
