Can anyone recommend a good beach for swimming & relaxing with my family?

West Bay?

I want something that is not hard to get to from the cruise ship dock with a gorgeous beach & some water activities (food & bathrooms would be ideal)

Seven mile beach is the best for what you want. You should ask the taxi driver to take you to Royal Palms. They have chairs for rent, a restaurant, watersports and facilities. You can rent watersports equipment right there from Red Sail Sports. I have a timeshare right down the beach from there and it is very nice.

My suggestion would be Sea Grape or Courtyard beach. Food, drinks, facilities, chairs/umbrellas for rent, jet skis, water ski, banana boat, parasailing, etc., outdoor shower, taxi stand waiting to return you to town. About 10 mins from the pier and about $5 pp each way. We had a great time there. Good luck.

If you want to check out the beach at the Reef Grill/Royal Palms they have a couple of webcams on their website at http://www.reefgrill.com. Sea Grape and Reef Grill/Royal Palms offer pretty much the same amenities. The Reef Grill/Royal Palms is a couple of miles closer to the pier.
