Punchbowl cementary

We would like to see Punchbowl cementary and was wondering if it would be feasable to take "the bus" to see it after Pearl Harbor, or if it is something we need to see on the day we are going to rent a car and to the other side of the island.

You will need to take a private car, city bus and get dropped off on the road, take a walk up the hill about one and half miles to the gates of the cemetary .

If you do a bus tour they do not let you walk around the cemetary any more.

The last time we walked around on a bus tour was 1992.

It is nice to see, but if you go on your own you will miss a lot of the history.

Safe travels.

Plan it on the day you have your rental car. We have been to Honolulu 6 times and this is one of our favorite places to visit. Beautiful, peaceful, historic and FANTASTIC views of the city. If you're able, walk up the inclined hill to the overlook. Absolutely worth it. And you will certainly get an earbug of the opening theme to "Hawaii 5-0" when you visit the military memorial and see the large statue. Da-da-da-da-da-DA!

PS Also a good site for a picnic lunch.
