What time is too early to fly home?

I'm contemplating taking a return flight home from Fort Lauderdale back to New Hampshire at 11:10 a.m. The Carnival Freedom is docked at 8:00 a.m. Is this not a good plan? I just want to be sure I have enough time to get to the airport. Maybe with self-checkout or whatever Carnival uses it will be ok?

Considering you are leaving a huge ship,and things happen with customs, baggage etc. , I'd try for something at noon or later. the trip to the airport is not a big deal, but I just wouldn't want needless stress added. Especially if you are leaving on a busy port day.
