I know there are lots about FLL hotel and different people are looking for different things like shuttle etc. this is my first time in FLL and I am from Ireland. I am looking for a nice hotel but not big $$$ for five days. It does not have to be beach as we go on beach holidays twice a year. I just want a nice place, safe where we can meet up with American friends that like shopping but I am easy. Is there something that would suit me? Is 17th Street the best option. I do have a leaning towards Embassy suites but our friends say they don't need all that space. What about extended stay America?

ESA is in a safe area, but the only shopping you'll find is grocery, liquor, drug, Ross, and a few boutiques. You could stay right next to the Galleria Mall and 3 blocks from the beach in Doubletree Gallery One Hotel, but it'll probably cost more. You can get to the Galleria safely from ESA safely by the #40 bus, which rides along the beach. If you're staying for 5 days, rent a car and go to Sawgrass Mills.
