We will be on the same cruise with you. If you haven't done so, please join-up on our roll call.

We've been to Key West - a great city. We're from the New Orleans area and Key west reminds us of the French Quarter, only cleaner ;). We haven't been to Freeport or Nassau yet, but haven't made any plan yet for our excursions to either place.

We've been on Carnival's Fantasy a couple of times as well as once on Norwegian's Spirit. Both of those ships are about the same size (as far as getting around). The decor of each is quite different. We would do either of them again!

My understanding is the Triumph is closer in size to the Conquest, so definitely a larger ship. This will be a new experience for all of us!

OK, I did it! I booked on the Triumph for December 12 out of New Orleans. I have only sailed with NCL before, so I am out of my comfort zone. I have taken my church groups on the Wind & Star to Alaska, POA to Hawaii, and my DH and I took the Spirit to the Western Caribbean. This will also just by dh and me. What are some things I really need to know!! Ports are Key West, Freeport, & Nassau. I hope I like Carnival!

HHHHHEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO primetimegirl: I love the Triumph and have sailed on this ship three times. Important things to know about the ship: You are unable to walk from front to back of the ship on decks three and four because of dining rooms and kitchen. You must go down to deck two or up to deck five walk around the kitchen and dining room areas then come back up on either the aft or forward elevators. Stairs are there too and may take less time to take. You will love Carnival.

When going to the buffett the best place to sit is in the New World Pool area. This is the aft section of the ship and is enclosed. The Pizzaria and Misssissippi Grill is back there. The pizzaria is the 24-hour resturant. The Noodle kitchen and the Deli are near by. The Deli is the best at sea.

This is your first Carnival cruise so some things you should know. My travel agent tells me Carnival has the largest staterooms in the cruise industry in each category. The rooms are large and beautiful.

The food is very good to excellent. They have the best food of any cruise line I have been on. There are a lot of activities on the ship during the cruise. Also, when I have sailed on the Triumph I always experienced good service and the food has always been top notch. You should have a good time.

I've never been to Key West, but, I've been to Nassau and Freeport. Nassau is on New Providence Island. It has the most population of any Bahama Islands. Only leave the dockyard area with a group or on a shore excursion.

Freeport is on Grand Bahama Island. On my last sailing there it was pretty safe to walk around on your own. The Lucayan Marketplace is a nice shopping area with stores and resturants. The Isle of Capri Casino is closing this month.

You are going in December, I will be back before Thanksgiving. I will tell you how it is since I will be at New Providence Island and Grand Bahama Island. I will be on the new ship the Carnival Dream.

Jenn, thanks for the information on the ports. We really want to snorkel, but I don’t know if it will be too cold. And I don’t know if we will snorkel at all three ports. What do you think? What is Lucaya Beach, just a public beach area? We would not be interested in the casino, but always interested in shopping! What is so great about Atlantis? I see on these boards it is not to be missed, I’m not sure it is for us.

Arlette, I have joined the roll call. We live in south Mississippi, so we are familiar with the French Quarter, not our favorite place. Love the Benigets at Cafe Du Monde!!

Gotta go check the roll call now.

Thanks for asking this question primetime .. I also told my husband we'd get anytime dining and am still crossing my fingers they implement it before we cruise on her 1/9/10. Also, they gave us early dining which really won't work for us, I guess I missed where I could request seating on the document form online. - I so hate missing out on the dining room thing - a sit down dinner for us at home is almost unheard of and I miss it. I'll take a special tip and hit the dining room ASAP upon boarding but I also want to try to get in the Behind the Fun Tour also - wonder what line I should get in first. *chuckle*

Just so you know if you request early or late it is only a request. Before I was platinum I requested late and got early. Check your sail and sign card as soon as you get it. It's too bad they don't have my time dining. We had this on our last cruise and really loved it.
