This 16 days cruise in 2010 will be on the River Princess, Duchess & Countess. I understand the Duchess and Countess will be refurbished to be like the Princess in 2010. Questions:

  • Is it worth upgrading to a Suite from a Cat 1?
  • Is the fridge in the Suite really useful? Is the size like the frig in most ocean liners?
  • For Cat 1 cabin, is it better in the front or the back of the ship?
  • For the lower two decks, front or back cabin for the least engine noise?
  • Does Cat 4&5 feels really freaky as water level is right at bottom of the window?
  • Are these ships on 220V only?
  • Since there is no room service, are there food/snacks available most of the day and evening in common areas?
  • Is dinner a single seating at a specific time?
  • How does the Sun deck dining work?
  • Is each cabin provided with a fresh bottle water each day?
  • Is the Sky Lounge a good place to be out but still be protected from the cold?
  • Is WiFi really that unreliable as others had stated on this board?
  • Anyone booked their own air, and how did that work out?
  • Do you have to reserve early for the bicycles?

Thanks in advance for your help. I know its a long list, but we have never done a river cruise and wanted to be prepared. :p
