conquest questions

We are first time cruisers and I have a couple of questions:o . We are leaving Feb.13,2005 out of N.O. My 1st question is how long before a temp. change, and I'm assuming we probably don't have to pack our swimsuits in our carry-ons. Question 2: If I am tanning and decide to participate in an activity do I need to go back to my cabin and change out of my suit or just wear a cover-up. Next I know this is probably asked alot but, on formal night can my husband get away with shirt and tie, or does he need a jacket? Okay the next thing I would like to know is the casino, pay off or rip off? Bingo? Play or skip?

I'm sure someone will reply so THANK YOU in advanced!!!

It depends on the weather in New Orleans and how far the cold front is in the Gulf. Generally if it's cold in New Orleans it takes until the next afternoon to warm up. (You'd be about in the middle of the Gulf.) If it's mild in New Orleans, it should be somewhat warm by mid morning of the next day. Note: Warm is relative to what you are used to. I live about 20 miles from New Orleans and we have friends from Long Island, NY that swim in our pool in February!!)

As long as you are not wet a cover-up with some type of footware will work. Depends on how comfortable you are in your cover-up vs. shorts / shirt or sundress. (I just but a loose sundress over me if I'm not too greased up with sunscreen.)

He can just wear a shirt and tie if he wants. It's not encouraged, but I have not ever seen a man be turned away from the dining room because he doesn't have a jacket. Most everyone else will have jackets, but he can still go into the dining room - from my experiences.

Can't say much about the casino or bingo because I think it's all a rip-off, but I have friends that gamble alot and love it. Bingo used to be pretty reasonable to have fun, but I think it's gotten somewhat pricey.

The horse races by the pool are fun though. Just a few dollars bet in cash and off you go!

IMO, he may feel left out or different if he dose not wear at least a jacket. Casinos never pay out much, bingo if you win it is good if not stay away. Horse race is fun.

I have worn cover ups to some of the games but I usually change as I end up going to eat shortly after.

:D my fiance dan and were on the conquest this past april! we had a wonderful cruise ! i just asked my fiance if we had any complaints? and he said yes! they asked us to to get off the ship 7 or 8 days earlier than we wanted to !!! lol :) but seriously now.....in april first day at sea we were out at the pool! you want to have a coverup if you leave the pool area.you could bring light sun dress and head to nearest bath room and change ...easy enough to do:) he could do the dinning rooms without the jacket....but i do agree most men will be wearing them.as for the casinos.....i love my black jack but i go figuring i will lose.....and if i break even great! once in awhile you hear about someone winning but is rare......as for bingo ...i am looking at my carnival capers and it says......10 games for $20.00.......final jack pot bingo $1,500.00 ....i have been there when they give away the cash and have seen people win 7 day cruises!!......i think it is a beautiful ship we had a cat 9a on the stern and it had this huge wrap around balcony...........................hope this helped ...................stephanie:)
