Booking Next Cruise While Onboard

It seems likely that we'll want to start planning our next cruise soon. (This will be our 2nd Celebrity cruise this yr.) So...what are the advantages (if any) of booking while on ship. I don't yet have a specific ship or itinerary in mind, would like to keep my options open. I don't use a TA; have had no problems booking directly with Celebrity so far.

I'd appreciate insight from those of you who have done this! TIA:o
