cherishrwil Posted July 19, 2010 #26 Share Posted July 19, 2010 If we're staying at Comfort Suites, is the water taxi a less expensive but still viable form of transportation there, or would we be better off with a taxi? I am also interested to find out the answer to this question. Does anyone know?
suzski Posted July 19, 2010 #27 Share Posted July 19, 2010 cherishrwil, I read in another thread that a cab to Comfort Suites is $4, so it doesn't look like there is any reason to take the water taxi.

poobears Posted July 19, 2010 #29 Share Posted July 19, 2010 We'll be at Atlantis next week with Carnival and still cant' make up our minds. We definitely don't want full acess passes since we aren't doing pools, slides or snorkeling. For now the plan is taxi over, walk around, gamble a little and grab a bite to eat. But we might pay the $35 and do the digs. I absolutely love aquariums and it's hard to pass what sounds like a pretty one up, not sure I want to toss out $70 (for both of us) on it though. Maybe I need to look up some pics that will help me decide if it will be worth it.

Thanks Krickett The DIGS opens at 9am. Before that, there is security at the top of the stairs preventing you from going down stairs. Breakfast is being served at the Great hall of waters and non-guests are not allowed to mill around down stairs any more.
darladelight Posted July 21, 2010 #34 Share Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks for all the info, I plan to visit and may do the free trip instead of paying outragious shore excursion prices.
Krickett Posted July 22, 2010 #35 Share Posted July 22, 2010 Thanks for the info Scubagirl!!:D Do you know approximately how long it would take to view all the areas included in the $35 Pass, we would really like to see Atlantis but don't want to go if we can only see part and then fell like we needed to stay longer to see the rest and couldn't. I know it probably sounds silly but we are only there from 7am to2pm and DH likes to be back on board at least 1-11/2 hours before we leave, so this does cut our time short. Do you think this is long enough to see most areas and not feel like a preview? We are pretty quick walkers if need be. Thanks Again, Krickett:):D

Thanks Again, Krickett:):D Depends on how crowded it is. sometimes you can walk thru the main tunnel in under an hour other times it takes 1.5 hours or more.. then there is the viewing tunnels (predator lagoon) in another section of the property another 45 minutes after you find the entrance (15 - 20 minutes). Checking out the lagoons could take another hour. You could do it. just not sure if you'd hit all the lagoons.. they are spread out over the property. You could go over early and check out the casino and lobbies, but I don't know if you'd have time to enjoy Marina Village after the DIGS.
Biffer1997 Posted August 1, 2010 #37 Share Posted August 1, 2010 Is it fairly easy to get transportation from port to Atlantis? Seems like either a water taxi or regular taxi are available right at cruise dock? Also, my mom and I have been to Atlantis and done the "DIG" tour, but my dad has not. We would all go over to Atlantis, and mom and I can go to casino, while dad does DIG. Where would he be able to buy the pass to DIG? Is it still $35? I could not find any info on the Atlantis website. The Carnival excursion is $50 and includes transportation--that may be an idea for him since the price is comparable. Yes, the DIGS pass is still $35. Available in the casino at the center kiosk.
