Would appreciate some advice re CAS!

....When I was on the Jewel the last day, one of the casino hosts told me I was now VIP, so I assume that means a comp'd cabin, or does it mean something else...

I was told that. Also told we had reached a higher level - Gold or something and it would result in more offers. Our last sailing was in January and we have not heard anything directly. Did try to book two different cruises, but did not get any deals. As a result, we have not cruised again and they have saved us lots of money!!

We are thinking about doing the Epic TA for the experience, but figure we should wait until closer to travel time to see what kind of deal they might have.

My husband & I recently took our first cruise with NCL (14 day Jewel out of NY to Miami). I accumulated 435 pts on my card, and my hubby 150 pts on his card. They took approx. $ 400 off our bill.

WHOA! Did we miss something??? On our 4-night Sky cruise a couple weeks ago my hubby and I totaled over 600 points just for four days. We were under the impression you needed something like 2500 points to get anything.

We're Diamond players with Harrah's and my DH got that cruise comped through them. But we're thinking of taking the Epic next fall.

Yeah you missed something! LOL Seriously, I did you redeem your points at the casino desk the last night of the cruise? If you accumulate more then 25 points, every point is worth $1 off of your shipboard account. It's a real shame if you didn't get that.

All's not lost tho. You should absolutely call CAS to see what they will offer you on your next sailing. I would think a comp cabin is headed your way. :)

Good luck,

CG

If you earned 600 points in only 4 days, you will be getting a free cabin, for sure. That is $82,000 through the machines. And hopefully, you got 600 off of your cruuise bill.

I was under the impression that points not cashed in would remain in your CAS account for 12 (or 18) months.

More reason to book another cruise soon! (to anyplace but Hawaii.....if you ask, I'll tell you why:cool:)

I didn't think of that....you are right....the points will remain unless you cash them in. This brings up an interesting topic tho. In the case of gooch47, since she didn't cash in her points, can she redeem those and get the $600 credit on her onboard account on her next cruise? If it within the 12-18 months that is. If so, then she needs to book her next cruise to sail within that time frame.
