Cable Beach - Only accessible via hotels?

I think hubby would like Cable Beach rather than Cabbage.

Do we need to take the day passes from the Sheraton or Wyndham or can we visit the Beach on our own? Not looking for toys and food....just a rental chair would do.

There's nowhere on Cable Beach that rents chairs or has any other amenities except the hotels.

Saunders beach has restrooms, but the are closed in the off season and the beaches are mostly deserted. Some are quite dangerous in the off/winter season as we have rip tides along the beaches, and no life guards or any other "help".

If you are entering the water, I suggest either a hotel beach, or Lighthouse beach (calm and shallow water) outside of downtown, or cabbage beach on Paradise Island (which can get very rough in the winter months).
