WideAwake428 Posted November 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2009 There is a spot where you can enter any celebrations on your reservation. It is in the booking dashboard and is under preferences and requests. I put in birthday for my husband and I save it and it saves it and says Cruise Celebrations: Birthday. When I exit the page though and come back it says: Cruise Celebrations: Null Any thoughts as to why? It didn't start doing it until about a week ago. Does putting in a birthday on there really do anything? Like an acknowledgment at dinner or anything - or does telling them not really make a difference? Our cruise leaves the 23rd and his birthday is actually the 22nd - but we will be celebrating it on the 23rd (I ordered a cake to be at the room). Maybe they will only let you "officially" celebrate it if it is the actual day? I assume it really won't make much of a difference whether they know we are celebrating his birthday or not, but just thought I'd ask.
gerif Posted November 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Doesn't matter - if you want anything done (decorations, cake, etc.) you'll need to buy it yourself. If you order a cake for the dining room, they will sing for you.
WideAwake428 Posted November 19, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Alrighty thanks, I won't worry about it then. I thought maybe they would do something to acknowledge it or something if it was logged in the system. Oh well. Thanks! I did order the cake to the room, hopefully the cake is tasty :)
jlbkty Posted November 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Had our TA call RCCL to add a birthday to our cruise next March. It was showing up on their website for awhile, but now it's gone. They have such a problem with their website. I guess I should just be glad my reservation is still there?? :D
Albert Ross Posted November 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Entering info doesn't mean anything as it does not get passed to the ship. If you want a slice of cake and the singing waiters just tell your waiter on the evening.
