luggage storage after cruise - no valet

I was wondering what ideas people had for storing their luggage for a few hours after the cruise (we don't fly out until after 6pm) while we explore a little more. We're flying US Air, so can't valet it to the airport.

 

I know I've seen people mention a couple of restaurants. Are we limited to this option? If so, has anyone used these restaurants before? Did you arrange beforehand?

 

I am paranoid about leaving everything with a hired taxi while we go explore (what I've seen others have done). If anyone's gone this route, are there drivers that you would recommend?

There is also a place on Pier 2 that will hold your luggage.
