pitz0005 Posted November 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2009 We will be coming to Barbados in Jan. We are looking for a nice beach with food, a bar, a place to change, boogie board rentals, and good waves for body surfing. Based on my searches, I am considering Rockley or Crane. Do either of these have rentals? It seems like Rockley can be hit or miss on the waves depending on the day, while Crane pretty much always has waves. Does anyone know of any tour operators that specialize in this? Otherwise our plan is just to take a taxi. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks much! monica1963 Posted November 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2009 The Crane would have the best waves every day. I do not know if they rent to anyone but the people staying at the hotel. There is also a cliff to jump off also but you need to time it right with a high wave. It is a beautiful place.
Aplmac Posted November 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2009 Accra/Rockley Beach. Crane has waves,yes.. but it's a big ole beach break that'll pound your face into the sand. Your face, and your day, but if I were you, I'd do Accra which is also a lot closer, and a lot better for boogey boarding providing there's decent waves the day you're there -which isn't always the case despite what you may have heard about Accra/Rockley Beach. I think you can rent Boogey boards at Accra, to increase the fun Not sure if that service still pertains today, but ask the chair guys! .
pitz0005 Posted November 22, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted November 22, 2009 Thanks for the responses. What can you tell me about the cliff at Crane? How deep is the water? Where is it located in relation to the beach. In regards to Rockley is there any way to determine what the waves are going to be like before we get there? Does anyone have any info on Zed's Surfing? Does he just do surfing or does he also rent boogie boards? Any other places that may be better then the two beaches I have mentioned?
