We are going on Freedom of the Seas, western caribbean in December, with a 2 yr old (he will be 30months on the day we leave)

Any suggestions for shore excursions?

- He can swim (very well with no 'floats') and loves the water

- I will be bringing a carseat, I will NOT allow him to ride in any vehical that we cannot install the carseat on (with the possible exception of the larger type busses)

- he loves animals

- he loves the beach

-he is very easy going and will try just about anything.

Off the top of my head, Western Carib on Freedom of the Seas is Mo Bay Jamaica (or is it Ocho Rios now?) - Grand Caymen - Labadee - Cozumel - is that correct?

In Grand Caymen - 7 mile beach

In Labadee - total beach day, no car seat or excursion needed

In Cozumel - we like Passion Island excursion through Royal Caribbean. It's a private island for cruise guests. It's suppose to be a bus/small ferry boat or Catamaran ride to the island, so no vans or taxis needed. They had lots of things for the kids to do. Mine loved it.

Jamaica - always been a tough call for me. The minimum for the excursions are so much older than my kids are. Some go to Sunset Beach Resort - but frankly, the ship was nicer than Sunset Beach Resort, so we stayed on the last time.

Jamaica - Rocklands Bird Sanctuary... it's not an excursion that RCI offers... we booked a tour guide in Jamaica off of recommendations we found off of Tripadvisor... We did Martha Brae (river raft) and we were gonna do the Sanctuary, but we got rained out... we were aboard the Liberty in 2008... went to Mo-Bay... Went with Barret Tours (which apparently is now called Barrett Adventures)

Rockland's Bird Sanctuary is a hummingbird thing... you go there, and hand feed hummingbirds... it looks COOOL!!! Since it rained on us there, we ended up at this really good restaurant called The Pelican.

Cozumel - Find the dolphin discovery on the internet at Chankanaab... it's 30% CHEAPER booking it online than booking it from RCI...

and kid's under the age of six go FREE!!! (w/ 1 paid adult)

RCI doesn't offer the package to children under 8.

I love Chankanaab... I got my SCUBA certification there, and that was also the same place where I got over my fear of Ceviche.

Grand Cayman - Seven Mile Beach or do the Turtle Farm...

it's always cool to hold a big sea turtle. The Turtle farm also has a swimming pool and an artificial snorkeling "lagoon"... plus showers...

Labadee is... Labadee... it's a beach day.
