How rough is the ride in a floatplane?

I am considering booking a floatplane in Ketchikan. In my exhaustive research on this board, I have never read of any complaints about airsickness. Can this be??? One of my daughters refuses to consider such an excursion after our rather bumpy plane ride over the Grand Canyon in 2002.

We did a floatplane in Vancouver and the ride over the Grand Canyon. The floatplane was nowhere near as bumpy as the Grand Canyon ride, in fact really not bumpy at all and much smoother landings:) . Some of that could depend on weather though, which is hard to predict ahead of time. I don't know if I'll ever be inclined to do the Grand Canyon trip again (although who knows with the passage of time:rolleyes: ), but would have no reservations about another floatplane trip.

I have taken a lot of floatplanes in Alaska. AND yes a couple times I have had a "rolling" ride. So if prone to motion sickness, TAKE PRECAUTIONS. This goes for the sailing too. Sometimes just thinking about it isn't good. :( But if you daughter doesn't want to go, go without her. My opinion only :)
