simpsian Posted December 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2009 We are on Ventura in the NY on a Caribbean 14 day cruise. First timers, so don't know what to expect especially in regard to Freedom dining and 'Formal Nights'. I was going to take a DJ - is this over the top? Any experience or tips?
cb at sea Posted December 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2009 Generally, no matter what type of dining you're chosen, the "dress code" is the same in the main dining room..... What's a DJ?
soccerref Posted December 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2009 Firstly, welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. For the non-Uk poster - a DJ is a dinner jacket. You will be fine with a DJ or an ordinary smart suit. Just be aware of your luggage allowance. I find dinner suits are much heavier than my husband's normal suit so we take that when we fly to join a ship. You may get a more informed answer if you post this question on the P&O forum. A lot of people become anxious about dress codes but it isn't a big deal. Remember that a cruise ship like Ventura is only like a 4* hotel but it floats so take the clothes that suit the weather for the itinerary and the kind you would feel comfortable to wear when you stay in an hotel. Have a fantastic cruise.
