fat lass Posted December 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2009 Hi Could anyone please give me an approximate cost of a cab for the following:- 1. Newark Airport to Marriott Eastside NYC. 2. Marriott Eastside to Cape Liberty 3. Cape Liberty to Newark Airport. Is it much more expensive to book a black car? Also. our return flight is not until the evening and obviously we do not want to spend the day at the airport, but we have the luggage problem. Any tips please as to where to leave it. Thank you
greatam Posted December 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2009 Hi Could anyone please give me an approximate cost of a cab for the following:- 1. Newark Airport to Marriott Eastside NYC. 2. Thank you Newark airport to NYC-between $65-90 + tip (15-20%) Marriott to Cape Libery-$70-95 + tip Cape Liberty to EWR-$45-50 Please be aware that NJ cabs DO NOT have to take you into NYC. There is a difference between the NY and NJ laws. You will have to negotiate with a taxi cab to get into NYC. The NJ driver make MORE money staying in NJ than going across the river, so a lot of them choose not to go. Same thing coming out of NYC EXCEPT to the airport. There are a variety of car services both in NJ and in Manhattan that could take you to and from. If you need some names, please post. For a relatively easy way to get INTO NYC, there is a bus that leaves EWR and goes to NY Port Authority bus station or Grand Central. This is called the Liberty Airport Express. From Grand Central or Port Authority, it is only a short taxi ride (no more than $20.00) to the hotel. Bus is $15.00pp from EWR to Manhattan. This is a large bus with storage for luggage under the bus. http://www.coachusa.com/ There really isn't much to do after you leave your cruise. You would have to book a private tour, as there is NO place to leave luggage unless you rent a day room at an airport hotel, try to talk one of the concierge's into holding your luggage or rent a car. There really are not a lot of places to see around the area unless you go to Liberty State Park for the Statue of Liberty. VERY industrial area far away from sightseeing unless you want to go to the mall for shopping. And for that, you most likely would need a car. smeyer418 Posted December 9, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2009 What is the best means of transportation if going from LaGuardia (sp) to JFK?Aprox. cost? either by cab, car service or airport shuttle. The airport shuttle is about $12.00 per person. http://www.panynj.gov/airports/jfk-airport-connections.html http://www.etsairshuttle.com/ a cab should also be about $30.00-$35 in total. car services should charge about the same as cab(with in few dollars). You can also take a cab to Jamaica station and then take the airport train right to your terminal
