Excursion recommendation with 5 year old

Does anyone have a suggestion of a good tour with a 5 five year old? It will be our first time to stop in Belize and although there are many things that look interesting, I know with a 5 year old we are somewhat limited.

Our son loves the beach, but it appears that Belize is not a "beach stop". I think a long ride to reach ruins would not be good with him. He enjoys wildlife, so I thought about the Mangrove tour, but this tour also goes to the museum and I didn't know if that would be boring for him -- he is always on the go.

If you have any suggestions or comments I would greatly appreciate it. We are leaving in two weeks.

Thanks!!

We leave in 3 days and plan to take our 5 year daughter old to Goff's Caye. I can snorkel some while Mom and daughter play on the sandy 1-acre island and in the shallow water. I may get her to learn to snorkel. It's only 20 min boat ride each way, a few hours at the island, and we will book on the ship to make it easier.

Do a search for Goff's here and you'll find lots of info.
