RCCL/NOS Embarkation Question

Hello, as you can see from my signature, we have been on a few cruises, but next month on NOS will be our first with RCCL.

 

My question is this: upon embarkation, is the MDR open for lunch? On other lines, you are guided to the buffet area for lunch. From what I see on this site, folks on RCCL are guided to WJ.

 

Is the MDR open for lunch as well? I am looking for a less chaotic environment if possible.

MDR is not open if as far as I remember, but you can go to the promanade and have pizza or sandwiches at Sorrentos. That is what my DH and I do. Less hectic and we don't need to fill up on the first day

We eat a late breakfast before leaving the hotel, so we don't need to participate in the "feeding madness" when we board! It's straight to the pool, for us!
