Personal Boat Rentals

Does anyone know if you can rent a personal boat in Barbados?

 

If so, can you post a link to a website?

I'm fairly sure that, due to local legalities,

the closest thing to a boat that you can rent is a JetSki

-the reason being that a JetSki is not classified as a boat.

 

For a speedboat, you need a license.

As long as you hold a valid Barbados-issued Speedboat Operator's license

then you are legal to drive a boat -but there's little chance of quickly finding one to rent even if you did

because there is no business to be done -it's all jetskis!

That's the big beach at Philipsburg, right where the cruise ships dock.

 

The correct name is (I believe) Great Bay

and getting to it is as simple as taking the Water Taxi from the base of the pier

over to where it drops you off at the mid-town stop at Philipsburg

 

right here somewhere..
