loopyloo33 Posted December 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2009 Can anyone tell me the approx costs for room service and what sorts of things are on the menu. We have a 2 year old and sometimes it is just easier to have a meal in the cabin. All of the websites I read just say a nominal fee!
Capricruiser Posted December 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2009 You can't use room service for a full meal. The menu which you'll find in your cabin is quite limited to certain beverages, sandwiches, some salads, coffee, etc. They charge you a €2.00 surcharge for room service whether it's just for a cup of coffee or a tray full of snacks. I don't recall how much the menu items cost.
loopyloo33 Posted December 28, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted December 28, 2009 Yes I understand you don't get a full meal, snacks are fine. THanks for your reply
Cruise4Andy Posted December 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2009 Unless you're cruising in a suite or grand suite... then you'll have a full menu available for in-room dining in your cabin!
loopyloo33 Posted December 31, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted December 31, 2009 no such look there. Just a balcony cabin for us!
tenpin Posted December 31, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2009 no such look there. Just a balcony cabin for us! Never mind Loopyloo, Just think when you reach our grand old age you may afford a suite like us, but like us, you may not remember why you wanted one. I'll send you a picture of me drolling over my breakfast.

k25 Posted December 31, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 31, 2009 article said that room service is free in carribean on european lines like costa and msc, but charges for it when cruising in europe. anyone know if this is true?
tenpin Posted January 1, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 1, 2010 I have never been charged for room service, in 14 cruises with Costa. only the extra cost of snacks. brought during the day, these charges start at E3.50 for coffee/tea but seldom exceed E10 Breakfast is still free. As Costa have a fixed service charge in place, you do not have to tip on top, unless you want to, usually E2 or $3 is ample.
