MAMBO BEACH in Curacao.....

Anyone been to this beach? Any how far it is from the docks? Easy to get a taxi back to the ship? Is there restaurant/bar nearby? Chairs to rent? Restroom? :D

 

Sorry... all the usual questions about island beaches.

 

I've heard this beach mentioned but haven't been able to get any personal recommendations.

I believe this is the same "beach" as Kontiki. They are both actually more beach clubs than beaches - along one end of the Seaquarium beach. Kontiki is the first one you get to and if your taxi driver drops you there you can walk from one to another to check them out. All have chairs, food and beverages. Other amenities vary a little. There might be an additional beach club there. The one time we went there we were just looking for lunch, not spending the day there, and after checking out both we settled in at Kontiki which looked a little nicer. But you can certainly look at both and make your own decision.
