Johnthed0g Posted December 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2009 Never been on her but the speciality restaurants are....special, if you like that sort of food, I would say MPW's white room, book when you get on board for the night you want. lancashire_cruisers Posted December 29, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2009 It depends on the type of food you like. The two speciality restaurants are the White Room and East and have different menus that will be rotated through the cruise. I didn't really care for the menus at East so didn't eat there but did try the White Room which was absolutely gorgeous (spaghetti lobster mmmm). Go to the restaurants when you board the ship and book ASAP to make sure you get the day and time you want. Enjoy Debbie:)
jocap Posted December 29, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2009 We celebrated our 30th Anniversary in White's, and even dressed in the full gear tho' it wasn't a formal night.... We went to their reception desk soon after arriving on board, and booked an early time; it was their happy hour, so there was a good reduction, which we spent on special wine. It was too cold to sit outside ( Bay of Biscay in Oct), but you could still see the sea. It was all the extra attention, and the little extras that we enjoyed so much. I never eat puds, but who could resist the chocolate truffle cake withbrandy snap baskets of ice cream? Enjoy!- jocap.
Johnthed0g Posted December 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2009 Makes my wife ill, but the extra attention is nice! I do find it's best to dine with others though, these posh dinners can take a while!
marlin48 Posted December 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2009 Personally i prefered East to MPW the staff and food were brilliant.
bellaj Posted December 30, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2009 Have to agree with Marlin48 - East was far far nicer than the the White Room - there was'nt anything wrong with the WR, it just was'nt any nicer than the main dining room, and someone needs to tell them there is a difference between rockett and lettuce ;) We went to East twice in the evening and once for lunch, and each time the service and food were faultless
