MrZoey Posted January 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2010 Hi all, just off the FOS New year cruise (wonderful time except for missing Labadee and the worst MDR meal we've ever had on NYE!) My question is...did anyone else get the noro virus on this trip? MY husband and 2 daughters all got it! My husband and one daughter started around 3am today and had to be taken off the ship in wheelchairs (RCCL couldn't have been more helpful with the whole thing, very impressed with their help). I checked into a Cocco Beach hotel, and sent my other three to catch our plane. One of them started getting sick shortly after boarding, and I'm waiting to hear how she is doing after they land (thank godness for texting)!:( The guest services desk said they hadn't heard about any other cases. I'll check back later, I'm on a Gatorade and cracker run:rolleyes: Hope you all enjoyed your trip!

Ships don't have equipment to do viral or bacterial specific identifications.......

MrZoey Posted January 6, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Are you sure it was Noro? Ships don't have equipment to do viral or bacterial specific identifications....... Unfortunately we all had some type of noro virus three years ago (not on a cruise ship), so the symptoms were classic. We know this time wasn't bacterial, it was quick onset and only lasted 12-24 hours. I was very close to taking my DH to the local ER in Cocco Beach for an IV, and suddenly he turned around late Sunday night. We are on the Indy the first week in March, hope DH doesn't get second thoughts!!
