Need decent Hotel close to Anchorage International Airport

Hello,

I am looking for a decent nice hotel close to Anchorage International Airport for June 22, 2010 for one night. Also, would like for the hotel to provide free shutter service to and from the airport. What are your recommendations??

Is the free shuttle a requirement? Perhaps a hotel doesn't have a free shuttle but the price is less expensive enough that the room rate + taxi is the same price or less as a room at a hotel that has a "free" shuttle. Taxi in any case is very cheap to airport hotels and far more convenient (no waiting for the shuttle, waiting for straggling passengers who called for the hotel shuttle but then are no where to be found when the shuttle shows up, etc).

Check out the hotel ratings at http://www.tripadvisor.com There's plenty to choose from including a well-regarded Courtyard by Marriott and a relatively next Holiday Inn Express about a mile or so from the airport.

We had the same question as first timers going to Anchorage in May 2010. We're arriving the day before our cruise and train trip to Seward. We checked AAA, Trip Advisor and an Anchorage tourist website hoping to find the right magic to make the selection easy. It didn't happen so we went with what we knew and followed recommendations from other travelers who stayed there in 2009. We selected the Holiday Inn Express Airport location for three couples. The price worked for all of us as well as the location close to the airport. They have the shuttle that meets your needs as it did our needs too. There may be better hotels as others may advise but we have a good idea what to expect. Good hotel hunting to you!

My family stayed at the Comfort Inn last summer. Their free shuttle picked us up from the airport and dropped us off at the Alaska RR the next day. Our stay included a decent, basic breakfast w/eggs, bacon, sausage, etc as well as bagels, cold cereal and the lot.
