melarsky Posted January 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2010 First time MSC cruisers and we are leaving on the 16th. I went to the MSC website to get some info and ran across a section that said that jeans and shorts could not be worn in public places after 6PM. I will obviously be dressing up for dinner, but I can't imagine that khaki shorts are unacceptable on deck after 6PM, it's the caribbean after all. Can past Poesia cuisers comment on what was the norm for evening attire in places other than the dining rooms. Thanks.
dancemum Posted January 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2010 We just got off the Christmas cruise and you can wear your normal cruisewear (shorts, etc) anywhere except the dining room. I guess they would let you in but they do frown upon it as do the other passengers. We usually dressed for dinner and then got back into comfortable clothes for the evening. palaemon Posted January 7, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2010 Okay. So, I can wear whatever I want (Shorts, Jeans, etc.) on the ship after 6pm EXCEPT the dining room? What about the specialty restaurants? Walking around the ship? First Time cruiser, and it's confusing.
boca7 Posted January 15, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2010 Noooo, Dress code after 6pm is no shorts, unless you just want to go to the buffet for dinner & you will be in the minority & look ridiculous.
