Bringing liquor on board Celebrity?

Can anyone give me an idea of how possible it is to bring liquor on board Celebrity, from the Pan Am pier? We sailed on Carnival last year and people bought liquor at the store just before boarding the ship. No one seemed to have trouble getting it on board. Celebrity sounds strict, but does it work the same way (easy)?
