jospur Posted January 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2010 Hello, I am new to the board, my name is Jose. I've been lurking and reading up on some very good info. The wife and I are taking a cruise to Princess Cay Bahamas (Eleuthera), St Thomas, St Maarten and Turks & Caicos on the Emerald Princess in April. We have been on the Grand Princess befrore and absolutely loved it. I'm looking for a little advise. I would like to at least fish one of the stops, perhaps an in shore trip by charter?? Would anyone here recommend me just bring a light/med spinning outfit and give it a try my self?? I know there's a nice bone fish flat at Lighthouse Beach in PC. I'd like to target fish like bones, smaller tarpon, snook, permit, or anything I can catch in the flats. Which of the destinations is best to fish in April? Please give me some recommendations. Thanks in advance! p.s.: Anyone ever troll a rod behind a cruise ship before? ;)

chrysalis Posted January 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2010 There certainly are lots of fish around princess cays, but getting a fishing license would be an issue....as it might be at any of the ports. No trolling behind the ship:D
loge23 Posted January 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Well, I can't offer a persoanl rec, but I can tell you you would not be the first to bring a rod with you. I was on the Emerald over Christmas and a couple of guys brought their gear and were seen at every port. Don't know if they caught anything, but you can't beat the surroundings! Enjoy your trip!
