Kaz Cruiser Posted January 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2010 On another RCCL cruise 4 years ago our teenage son had a super time at the teens club. Not sure if he will be too old for this at 18+. Has anyone been on The Oasis with a son that age.....did he have a good time??
matsitter Posted January 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2010 We are going on 4/3 and have similar questions. Since they changed the drinking age to 21 does that effect 18 and over going to bars, dance venues and karaoke after hours? We chose the boat over an all-inclusive thinking that there would still be more to do and definitely more people his age. Any help on this would be appreciated. akcruz Posted January 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Can't speak to Oasis but on other RCI ships anyone 18 and over can get into anywhere on the ship including bars, casino, etc. They will, however, be unable to order alcoholic beverages unless they are 21 or older. In my mind RCI has kind of left out this age of kids. They have the 17 and under kids and teen clubs and while they do have a few 'meet & mingles' for the 18 -21 group they are really hit or miss. My DD was 19 on the Mariner last summer and ended up hanging out with us most of the time. The only kids she met her age just wanted to sneak alcohol and fortunately for us that's not her thing! Overall she had a great cruise, but it would have been even better if she could have met others her age to hang out with.
