Spring Break-Caribbean or Mexico?

We are planning our 4th cruise for late March of this year. We've cruised previously to the Eastern & Western Caribbean during this same time frame, and we LOVED it! We also cruised to the Bahamas for our wedding in early July. So, to mix things up, while still flying from the continental U.S., we were considering a Mexican Riviera cruise for this year. My biggest concern is the weather on the "at-sea" days. This is when I park my butt in the sun, and my husband goes to the casino! Is the weather conducive to getting a good tan? Or, do we return to a cruise in the Caribbean? Or, do we fork over more money to fly out of San Juan and do the Southern Carib? Thoughts?

If you loved the Caribbean, you may NOT like MR....it's not as pretty (water-wise) as the Caribbean, it's not as warm....

IMO, once you've seen a Caribbean Island, you've pretty much seen 'em all....cruise out of Fl. and do the Eastern again! The whole "flavor" of Caribbean cruising is much nicer!

Hope you like lots and lots and lots of little, tween, teen, college kids! Caribbean weather and beaches should be great at this time of year. We did the Mexican Riviera twice - in July - and sea days were a bit cool, while ports and beaches were hot. MR beaches are not my favorite. Southern Caribbean cruises from SJ tend to be very port-intensive, so not a lot of sea days. Have fun whatever you decide! Personally, I'd do Eastern. Not as many 18 y/o old drinking ports.

I'd stick with the Carib. Find an itinerary that hits one or two ports you haven't been to. Or try a differnt line to change it up.

The S. Carib is cool if you get to stop in Aruba, Curacao, maybe St. Barts, St. John. But unless you have 10 days you will have to start in San Juan. More air $$$

Are you set only on cruising? How about an all inclusive? The Mayan Riviera is wonderful. Or try Turks and Caicos or Punta Cana.
