Solstice - Lobster Tails on Last Formal Night

I searched for menus from the Solstice and found what appeared to be menu scans from one of its earlier sailings. On the formal nights (Monday and Friday) the lobster didn't appear on the Friday night menu. Just wondering if they no longer serve the lobster tails on the last formal night on Solstice?

Hi Arlutz !

They serve it, but it's not Lobster only. It is a Seafood Melange, (I think that's what they call it now), and it is a small Lobster tail, a scallop and 2 large shrimp. I believe it is served over pasta. It's a good menu item, though not as good as the Lobster Tail of the past. I believe this was served with a Seafood Risotto, which was outstanding.

In the past, this was one of the Menu highlights of the Cruise. Now, I can take it or leave it, depending on what other items are on the menu that evening.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your Cruise !

We ordered the seafood melange, or whatever they call it, on Dec 4 - 14 Equinox, as an extra entree to the beef; it was only half a lobster tail, and shrimp - but the lobster was a good taste addition to the beef. After all, it was the last night.... It was a warm water lobster tail, not as good as cold water ones (IMHO, being from New England), but definitely cooked properly. I don't eat shrimp. However, I missed the beef wellington which they don't serve anymore.:)

Thanks everyone. You've confirmed what I saw which is the seafood melody over risotta. I'm not a big lobster person but my kids who are also coming are. At least I won't be telling everyone about having lobster the last formal night and sounding foolish. But the idea of etra ordering the melody along with the beef dish was a great idea. Thanks

My DH loves the lobster tails. Been on Equinox and Solstice with the lobster and shrimp combo. All he did was tell our waiter that he wanted 6 tails (yes, 6..they are quite small) and he got them...nicely cooked and hot. I would love a 2-1/2# whole lobster, but I don't expect I will see that. Until then, I guess he can be happy with his many lobster tails and no problems getting them. Given with a smile.

...Just wondering if they no longer serve the lobster tails on the last formal night...

I just got off of the Jan 3rd Celebrity Constellation Panama Canal cruise. They served lobster tails with shrimp on the last formal night. I didn't order them because I only like my lobster boiled or steamed and just into the cooked catagory, no more - I hate overcooked seafood. I was very afraid that the kitchen would over cook them, for my tastes. I was right - table mates said that they were cooked more than they liked. Probably 95% of EVERY meal served that night was the lobster tails, so I felt that going against the herd and ordering a rare slice of prime rib would be more to my liking - it was delicious.

By the way, during the galley tour, the chef escorting us said that their lobster is "rock lobster", not Maine lobster.
